Would suggest you should look at the various cruise lines brochures. The deck plans will indicate which cabins have all the facilities you desire.

Have a look at Royal Caribbean Family Staterooms. There is certainly at least one of their ships which has a hard partition between bedroom/sitting area but unfortunately I can't remember which ship. I saw a picture of one of these way back in 2006 but I couldn't guarantee that there was a door as opposed to a curtain! Hope this helps!

On a first and recent cruise on the Diamond Princess (Princess Cruises), we shared a stateroom (double bed)with a balcony. Balonies had connecting doors for the convenience of friends cruising together. And we had an out-of-this-world experience. Joseph cCnterbury, 9 may, 2008.

Get hold of the Berlitz Complete Guide to Cruising and Cruise Ships 2008 and browse through the descriptions of the ships. Regrettably, most cruise ships which have a separate room, as you request, have very few cabins as they fall into the suite category and therefore at the top end of the price range.

We were recently on the point of booking with celebrity cruises, and understand that they offer cabins with connecting doors. Best thing is to ring them for full details of the cabin set-ups.
