Navigator OTS is 1,020 ft. long...all 137,276 tons of her. Passenger numbers..around the 3,100 mark. It takes awhile to get the contents of around 8 Boeing 747-400's onto one ship! You picked the wrong ship..not the wrong queue. Big ships/long queues(for everything) ..Small ships/quicker service and boarding! Azamara or Crystal are the lines for you.

Those who used the Navigator of the Seas from Southampton will no doubt confirm the relative ease in boarding (and disembarking) at Southampton. The advice to turn up early seems sound. Interestingly, last Friday disembarking from the small cruise ship Artemis didn't commence until 8.30am whilst on both Navigator cruises last year from the same port, with three times the passengers, commenced at 7.00am. Perhaps it is more about efficiency than size?

What time did you get there -in Barcelona you can usually board from 11.30 am - best to get there early and you walk straight on, alternatively get there at the last minute. As Spencer says, getting 3,100 passengers on through security takes time.

Hi, thanks for that, we got there around 1330 hrs, was told we couldn't board before 1300 hrs, but then found out that we could have got on from 1100 hrs which would have suited us as all we did when we left the hotel in the morning was walk round an indoor shopping centre due to the heavy rain. I understand the ship is huge and there is a lot of people boarding but went on the Mariner in 2004 from Orlando and that was a breeze so was maybe expecting that to be the same. Cheers, Mike .

I think you must have hit unlucky, we sailed on the navigator on 15th May from Barcelona and was one the ship within 15 minutes of getting to the port at 12.00.
