I am an art enthusiast and I must advise you to be aware of the very high possibility that pieces presented as 'unique' could very well be 'cruising' in abundance all over the world on different cruise lines according to the acclaimed Berlitz Review 2007.

Definately avoid the art auctions or if you go, enjoy the free bubbly but take all the spiel with a pinch of salt. I've bought a number of limited edition prints on a couple of cruises - the first with P&O I'm happy with as I've actually seen the same prints for more in a gallary in Canary Wharf at much more than I paid, however on the last cruise aboard Navigator of the Seas we bought a couple more from Park West Galleries in the US who are now the subject of a class action brought by people who spent literally hundreds of thousands on what have turned out to be fakes! We spent a few hundred on a couple of prints that I actually like very much - allegedly signed by the artist but to be honest they could have been signed by the staff (and allegedly often were, according to the class action!) I guess the message is - if it looks too good to be true it is, and if you're going to buy good art, go to a reputable gallery or dealer. If you like a cheaper piece you can always take the chance that its genuine but enjoy it for its own sake if its not - just dont treat it as an investment. P&O were selling some Todd White pieces last year .
