Find Your Cruise
The dress code for the Nile cruises is Daytime casual and for evenings, smart casual. Shorts are not permitted at dinner or for the captain's welcome cocktail reception. The dress code very much depends on the star rating of the boat you are on. A 4* was very relaxed (although the majority glam up a bit for the Captain's Cocktail Party on the first night); if you are on a 5* then people tend to dress up for dinner (although not DJ standard as on a cruise ship).
Hope this helps.
WE are about to go on this cruise and will be on the Crown Prince. Is there a captains cocktail party?.We leave for Egypt next Wed, would be grateful for quick reply .
The answer is yes normally second night but it will depend on the itenary and you won't necessarily get that with your pack before you go it might not be until you join the ship...Bill.
Many thanks for your quick reply. Nothing worse than going unprepared. So looking forward to getting away to a warmer climate.
Snap we will shortly be in the Caribbean, so not ong now but here the weather this past few days at least has been dry...Bill.
I agree with Blyth on the dress code. But you will have an Egyptian night when people are expected to dress in Egyptian garb. I suggest that you will find it a lot cheaper to buy these on one of your stops rather than on the ship.
I agree with the Blyth and Far. I would however add that you need to remember that whilst the Egyptians appear to be relaxed it is a muslim country so you will need to be more circumspect in terms of exposing yourself. The Galabaya for the Egytian night can be purchased very cheaply at one of your stops. Do'nt buy at the first price mentioned haggle.
