Don't hesitate to book the most inexpensive inside cabin, if you are concerned about money (D8 or something like this). They are very comfortable and much higher than the engine room. Actually they are six decks above the sea level and above the main lounges and restaurants, so that from this aspect you will feel as being in a nice hotel. Plus I have seen many people reporting that they are quiet as well. And you will not miss many sea views on a transatlantic crossing, I promise :). Moreover, the lowest inside cabins at Deck 4 enable for the least rolling and pitching possible - and chances are that you will need it in the unpredicted Atlantic :). But if you have some money to spare, book an in-hull sheltered balcony cabin (B1-B4). These balconies are especially designed for transatlantic crossings and well protected from the strong Atlantic wings. Plus, they offer much privacy and they have direct access to the sea. B5-B6 cabins are less expensive, but they have views obstructed by lifeboats and you must search the Deck Plans to find one between two lifeboats if you want some kind of view. Whatever you decide, don't forget to buy as many things from NY as your cabin space allows, as their transportation is free of charge, contrary to air travel.

Dead easy. Pick a cabin with a restricted view balcony.( B5 or B6 I believe) They are discounted and you won't miss much because there isn't a lot to see crossing the Atlantic. If you pick a port side cabin you will see the Statue of Liberty on the way in, Starboard side to see it on the way out. You will have a lovely time. Good luck. Richard.
