There are other sites where cruisers express their thoughts and that particular route is fully explored with lots of interesting comments. You may also find it useful to pick the bones out of Princess' own excursions and see what might interest you there and make up your own excursions. There are many companies who will do you there own or your own suggestions throughout Nova Scotia, and Quebec just hunt them out on the net. Each of the towns have a good tourist web-site and they are worth looking at Did you know, for instance, that Halifax has a bus called FRED which stands for Free Rides Everywhere Downtown. The weather can be anyone’s guess as you say. If there is a northerly wind coming down it can get quite cold but it's unusual early in the Fall. New York end August early September can be in the 80s (high 20s) and you can normally expect some rain on that New England coast but not a certainty. I would take, depending on how late you are going summer clothes together with a sweat shirt and some form of rainwear, long trousers and shorts and not bother with the welly boots. Good hunting ... Ida.
Thankyou for your answer , we are going on the 13th september. Ihave taken notice of what you have said and iwill certainly look into it further, thanks once again.
We cruised in reverse from Quebec to New York on Sea Princess and had a really lovely cruise with the ship food and company being fantastic. The weather was coolish but pleasant but you can get rain too I believe so pack a sweater and a light rain jacket we would go back as I thought this was one of the best cruises we have done. The canadians were lovely as were the americans - have a lovely time. We cruised late September early October - the colours could have been better but think it might be at it's best end of October but anyway it was great.
We cruised from Quebec to Barbados in 2005. The weather ranged from hurricane(Wilma) to blizzards in Boston and everything in between! Pack layers! the weather did not spoil the holiday at all.The itinerary is one of the best we have ever done.Ports all interesting, food as good as always, ships company excellent, and a captain with a super sense of humour. In fact we enjoyed it so much we are repeating the cruise in October.
