I don't think RCI would make a big anouncement that their flagship ship out of Southampton is going to be ready 2 weeks early if it really was not going to be ready. First sailing is May 2 with a 4n cruise to Cork.

We are booked on this same cruise and have moved dates. We hadn't thought about the ship maybe not being ready as we always have good service etc from Royal Caribbean, our concern is whether it is going to be full of party people. Would have liked the stop in Geurnsey.

We have booked on the 2nd May maiden voyage of the Independence. I spoke to the booking office at length as I was concerned that this sailing was not on their website. They have assured us that the ship is going to be ready at least 2 weeks before 2nd May and so they have added on extra dates. I have no worries that all will be ok and we are looking forward to the launch party on board.
