Effective January 2008, Royal Caribbean International instituted a new smoking policy that includes the following key changes:
Elimination of smoking within the staterooms; smoking will be allowed on balconies of balcony staterooms. There is NO smoking permitted inside any stateroom
Creation of one non-smoking bar on every ship (Champagne Bar on Freedom, Radiance, Voyager and Vision Classes, Viking Crown on Sovereign Class - designated lounges are subject to change- have guest check onboard)
Consistent policy toward non-smoking in any dining area fleet-wide, indoors or outdoors
Enforcement of Smoking Policy fleet-wide
A $250 cleaning fee will be posted to the accounts of any guest(s) who smoke, or allow smoking, in their non-smoking staterooms.
There is only a few bars and staterooms which are no smoking and you cant smoke in the dinning room .
Boswell is actually incorrect - you cannot smoke inside your stateroom. Effective January 2008, smoking is only permitted in designated areas and outdoors on the Starboard side of the ship (contact the Guest Relations Desk for details). Smoking is not permitted in any dining venue, theater, hallway or corridor. Smoking is not permitted inside any stateroom, however, it is permitted on private outdoor balconies of balcony staterooms. A $250 penalty will be applied to the SeaPass for guests found smoking in staterooms. Cigarettes, cigars and pipe tobacco must be properly disposed of and never thrown overboard. A guest must be at least 18 years of age to purchase, possess or use tobacco onboard.
