Find Your Cruise
All you none smokers need to get a life ,only since the smoking bans were brought about has all the nonsense been bandied about regarding unbearable smells and thick fogs caused by someone partaking of the odd fag. Most moaners are likely to be the very people driving about in poison belching Jags and people carriers and also taking many flights again causing polution on a massive scale .Are they also the do gooders who rant and rave should anyone suggest there are to many immigrants entering our country .Live and let live the average working man should have the right to smoke or drink and many other things without someone constantly bleating .Who is without vice ? stand up and be counted ,not many of you then .
Yes,next to the casino, but it has angered a lot of people as the non smokers are subjected to walking through the haze to get to other parts of the ship,we were on the maiden voyage and with only 3 days into the cruise the smell wafting around that area was just awful,it will be better all in if the only allowed smoking outside to preserve not only the interior of the ships but also the interiors of the passengers!!
Why isn't tobacco illegal??
What's stopping us from making this vital progressive step?
Its obvious Hunt, Money! The tax on cigerettes generates billions for the government.
Cruise ships are 'duty free'and therefore no revenue for governments, ball back in your court Aplmac. Richar.
Love your economic thinking, Matt and Richard. Just think of all the lovely revenue cannabis might generate! I agree .. Health be damned-it's all about the money! so we legalize whatever's convenient(can't let the alcohol lobby hear such subversive suggestions though, might put them out of business..but golly Governments should be doubly happy!) Let's get it on and Go for the Money.
The results of the recent survey on whether smoking should be allowed on British registered cruise ships and those working out of British ports predominantly for the british cruise market clearly show that people have had enough of the smoking being permitted on ships, suggest you go take a look at the results of that survey or ask cruise review to give you a copy. As far as i am concerned I am against smolking on ships period, the comments by Mr Boyle of Clydebank are quite correct, the permeation of the air and ones clothing by smoke cn and does ruin a cruise for a lot of people and permanently turns people against some ships ( the cruise companies would do well to take note as they are losing regular customers as a result ) I will not step back onboard the QM2 of cunard or that "Butlins on sea" Arcadia of P&O for that very reason as I got fed up and put off them by the smoke haze and the prevailing stink of smoke around the bars and casino which one had to walk through to reach the dining room etc , wake up and stop this filthy habit before the last one ashore turns off the light. Cruises are expensive enough without having them ruined by the smoke haze and stink of smoke everywhere .
Feel better now Bladen.
You may think its a vital progressive step,Messrs Bladen and Hunt, others disagree.Something like 20-25% of the British population engages in the habit--30-40% if you're Japanese and more if you're Chinese. Many would think you the sons of a Cromwellian Puritan, but I suppose with a control freak Stalinist government you feel obliged to go with the flow. I don't think smoking as such is a sensible thing to do, but as a true blue Brit I would defend the right of others to do so, it's called "live and let live". Smokers actually subsidise those who don't puff--They live shorter lives and don't fill up the hospitals and old folks homes for so long. We all used to rub along together with a modicum of courtesy and good manners--I wonder where social courtesies have gone and where the current witch hunt has come from.It should be quite possible to set aside a decent proportion of public space for smokers without offending the Fanatics--I personally would go along with say 20% of deck space/public rooms being set aside--that way you wouldn't get the unholy fug that people bleat about. Cruises are about getting away from the daily stresses-- who wants to share space with a soap box ranter.
To answer mssrs bird my comments previously were for the fact that a brand new ship was on the road to being polluted by smoke when a few steps to the outside of the ship to save non smokers being subjected to passive smoking which can KILL was where i was coming from !! you may have a jag or fly when you could use public transport but for me i am a non smoker,do not drive, and do not fly,but take the train to the ports so before you class all people like yourself take a look at how you are polluting the enviorment and then ask yourself what was my comment all about ! thank you !
